Studio works are usually larger paintings that are born from memories or feelings of something I saw and wanted to express. This is where I do wildlife portraits, landscapes in a particular setting, commissions, etc. There is more narrative in these paintings. I also include some commissions.
One of my favorite places to paint is Owls Head, and early in the morning before the fishermen get ready for a day out on the water it is so quiet and luminous.

This is a paddle I created for a Trekkers fundraiser, using a technique I have never done before: pyrogravure. The burning of the wood and its effects on the wood was a lot of fun to play with. Thanks to my husband, Jim Ritter, for the use of his tools and for the lovely varnish job he did on the paddle!
